Pasifika Families Inc.

"Many people shared purpose — all cultures working together so our roots run deeper"

Supporting Māori, Pacific Island and Multicultural Families to Thrive in Australia

We don’t replace services — we help them work better for our people.

Pasifika Families exists to create connection.

What began as a small playgroup for families far from home has grown into a trusted space where culture, community, and belonging come together.

We sit between community and systems — strengthening engagement where trust and cultural understanding are often missing.

What we do:

  • Cultural mentoring and support
  • Community connection pathways
  • Family wellbeing support
  • Creative and cultural programs

We work through partnerships, collaboration, and community-led delivery.

When our people feel seen, safe, and connected — everything else works better.

Grounded in culture and community

  • Fostering cultural connections
  • Sharing knowledge using Talanoa
  • Creating a Pasifika village within our community
  • Promoting our cultural values of love, service and respect

MULTICULTURAL QUEENS PODCAST!

MULTICULTURAL QUEENS PODCAST!

Hosted by Imeleta and Filiga, the Multicultural Queens Podcast celebrates the voices of women from diverse cultures—mums, aunties, students, professionals, and everyone in between. Each episode dives into life in Australia through a cultural lens: identity and belonging, mental health and wellbeing, money and careers, parenting and auntie-life, relationships, sports and arts, and staying connected to language and tradition.
You’ll hear honest conversations, learn practical tips, and discover services, events and opportunities across our community. We also shine a light on key moments like Harmony Week and International Women’s Day.

Services

Cultural Awareness Workshop – how to engage and work with Māori and Pasifika young people.

Cultural Dance & Music Workshop (Polynesian dancing, ukulele and drums) – great for team-building events.

Cultural Arts Workshop – weaving, screen-printing, traditional Island cooking.

Pasifika Families caters for both male and female young people 16-25yrs.

In some circumstances we may support young people under the age of 16 years to ensure their immediate welfare and safety.

Emergency accommodation is assessed on a needs basis and supports young people of culture who are at risk of homelessness or are homeless.

Our accommodation service is managed by a Manager and staffed by qualified housing support workers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We offer a culturally unique holistic approach to care, which encourages young people to connect with culture, their identity and community. Emergency accommodation starts from one night to 7 or more nights with experienced culturally-informed youth workers.

Pasifika Families offers significant and regular outreach to families and young people in the Brisbane area. We are affiliated with other services and community organisations to facilitate this outreach. We can book one on one, family, or youth mentoring on an hourly basis. We have experienced family and youth support workers who understand your needs.
