đŸ”” Poi Making & Movement Workshop

Honouring Māori Tradition Through Craft, Culture & Dance

This workshop is a gentle and powerful invitation to slow down, connect, and create. Rooted in Māori tradition, participants will learn to make their own set of poi — the soft, rhythmic tools used in storytelling and dance — while sitting in circle with one of our respected elders, who will share the cultural meaning, stories, and wisdom behind the art.

Once the pois are made, participants will be guided through a simple and joyful movement session, learning how to use your creation in a traditional-inspired dance that honours Māori culture and the power of rhythm and flow.

This is more than a workshop — it’s a cultural experience that brings generations, creativity, and community together in a safe and inclusive space.
